This brings us to the last two litters of record; A Ch Barberryhill Phillip ex Jalalabad Kara production on 9/9/1937 which reversed the trend of virtually all male offspring with five bitches vs three males (Unless Hafia was part of the other litter discussed on page 2);

Finally the Septembr 1, 1939 litter out of Suryakantra Of Geufron (another import from England) ex Farida of Kuhsan which produced Omar of Kuhsan, a light red and brindle dog (#A396446); which went to Gordon Zandar and is the only puppy which was registered from this last of the Kuhsan litters. (Ed note: Our records show the dogs name as Omar Of Kuhsan II and that the breeder was Mrs J L Weltz of Los Gatos, California , per AKC Stud Book 5-40)

SUMMARY
Because of the many imports by R.W.Sampson, researching the Kuhsan kennel promised to be interesting.
Barberryhill Phillip
(not an import, but one of the founder dogs for Kuhsan, imported from the east coast). We find around 10 pups from 2 litters, I litter for Kuhsan and one for the Canadian Kennel El Myia. an Offspring of the El Myia breeding went into the Kerrin Kennel breeding program
Garymhor Kishtwar
we find around 20 pups, 2 litters for Kuhsan and one litter for Oakvardon. One of the Kishtwar offspring, Yasmin Of Kuhsan went to Mrs J R (Betty) Renfrew's Blue Bonnet Kennel and was incoroprated into their breeding program. The oakvardon Kuhsan's are behind Oakvardon Charon, a prolific dam for Oakvardon
Jalalabad Kara
we find about 16 pups all with the Kuhsan affix, Kali Of Kuhsan from this line went to Mr & Mrs Frank Wiethoff of Kerrin Kennels and was bred to Kerrins Fachamo and Kurrum El Myia, prolific winners and sires. Ranee of Kuhsan also went to Kerrin and produced around 20 pups from 4 litters. Of this list of Kuhsan imports, perhaps the breedings of Barberryhill Phillip to Jalalabad Kara were the most significant
Garrymhor Khasa
we only find one litter sired by imported kennelmate Kishtwar, R W Sampson seems to have retained all of the litter as none show a different owner, and no litters produced by this litters offspring.
Jalalabad Khargosh
we find only one litter out of Blue Bonnets Bagheera (Badshah Of Ainsdart ex Zahera of Prides Hill), 3 registrations, all owned by the Renfrew's of Blue Bonnet
So from the above, (in addition to Kuhsan's own kennel development and breeding program), we can see that Kuhsan offspring contributed to some important kennels, such as Kerrin, El Myia, Blue Bonnet, Oakvardon. Kuhsan via Kerrin is in the back pedigree of Felts Thief Of Baghdad. So all in all Kuhsan made an important contribution to what were to become emerging major kennels in the breed
Mouhna Of Kuhsan
R.W. Sampson never bred from Mouhna. Yes, he is accredited as the breeder of Mouhna's first litter, but in fact he imported Mouhna in whelp from Mrs Prude in England. He then, later sold Mouhna to Mrs Porter of Kingway kenels in Denver Colorado. Mrs Porter bred Mouhna to Nillyo Of Prides Hill, the litter whelped 8/25/1939 and contained the red black masked bitch Uly Hazrat Of Kingway
Uly Hazrat Of Kingway produced 3 litters at Kingway, including Mouna Of Kingway who was a foundation bitch for Mr & Mrs William L & Margaret L Waskow's Little Fir Kennel.

Salim OF Kingway
R. W. Sampson is very interesting, he imported six Afghan Hounds from England and in conjuction with his local (east coast anyway) Barberry Hill import he developed a bloodline that helped other kennels. It is particularly interesting that his import Mouhna Of Kuhsan was eventually sold to Kingway Kennels where her breedings proved especially important to Kingway and other kennels of that era.
